Storage Instructions
Freeze-dried breast milk is not sterile. Proper storage and preparation are essential to avoid the risk of contamination from bacteria which can cause severe illness if safety guidelines are not strictly observed.
-
Unopened Pouches
- Store unopened pouches in a cool, dry indoor location
- Once opened, keep the pouch in a cool, dry spot with the zipper fully sealed.
- Once opened, dispose of any remaining powder after 5 days.
- If any moisture gets into the pouch, dispose of the entire contents.
- Avoid storing the scoop inside the pouch.
- Do not use the product beyond the expiration date indicated on the label.
-
Rehydrated Milk
- Cover bottles that are not used.
- If the bottle was made with cold or room temperature water, it can be stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours, provided the baby hasn't fed from it.
- If the bottle was prepared with warm water, use it within 1 hour and discard any remaining milk.
- Discard any leftover milk.
- Once your baby has started feeding, do not refrigerate or store the bottle—discard any remaining milk after feeding.
- Do not freeze rehydrated milk.
